Important Update for our Guests



The health, welfare and safety of our guests and employees are paramount at The Duke Boutique Hotel. The COVID-19 health crisis has had a tremendous impact on families, communities and businesses around the world. We understand that your travel plans may have been affected by the rapidly changing information on travel restrictions and event cancellations. With your safety and satisfaction at heart, we are working diligently to support you during this challenging time. 

Cancellation Policy -  Effective Date: March 04/03/21 

As we continue to monitor the impact of COVID–19, we are making adjustments to our direct booking cancellation policies as follows:

  • Direct reservations with payment at the hotel.  Guests may cancel at any time, as long as cancellation occurs at least 48 hours before arrival. Reservations may be modified by changing the date on any reservation. This may result in different pricing, but no fee for making changes will be charged.
  • Direct reservations made prior to 4th March 2021 which are non-refundable reservations for arrival between 4th March 2021 up to 11th April 2021.  Such reservations may be amended or postponed up to end March 2022. The amount already paid will be used towards the new reservation. Changing the date on any reservations may result in different pricing, but no fee for making changes will be charged.
  • New reservations made after the 4th March 2021: These reservations will be treated like any standard booking, according to our policies and procedures as outlined during the reservation process.

Non refundable rate reservations - In case of FORCE MAJEURE ( such as with Travel Ban due to COVID-19) where guests are forced to cancel their reservation due to travel restrictions beyone anyones control, a voucher of same value as payment made will be issued and will be valid for 1 year from cancellation date.

In case of cancellations for rates with free cancellation up to 48 hours prior to arrival, last minute cancellations due to FORCE MAJEURE (such as with Travel Ban due to COVID-19) will be issued with a voucher of same value as cancellation fee. Said vouchers will be valid for 1 year from cancellation date.

  • Gift Vouchers with expiry dates in March 2021: if you have not yet used your Gift Voucher, it can be extended without supplement for a stay in November 2021 up to February 2022 excluding Christmas festivities. Voucher may also be extended to dates in April to October at a supplement, based on dates of stay. Kindly use the e-mail shown on your Gift Voucher for any query.


  • No-show: the regular no-show fee applies

Q: I didn’t book directly with THE DUKE BOUTIQUE HOTEL. How do I cancel my reservation?
 If you booked through an online travel agent or other third-party, you are advised to contact the original booking provider for information on their policies.

Q: I am trying to cancel an existing reservation I booked but i can’t cancel the reservation. What should I do?
  If you booked the reservation through us we can assist with the cancellation as per policies outlined above. However, if you made the reservation through an online travel agency (e.g .Expedia or, you need to contact the online travel agency to cancel the reservation.

We have always taken our guests health and safety, hotel cleanliness and high standards of hygiene very seriously. It is not just us who say this, but so many guests who take the time to review us on various social media.

During these challenging times, we are taking additional steps and procedures to ensure the safety of our guests and staff.

Our hotels’ health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including enhanced awareness training re COVID-19, and include everything from handwashing hygiene, cleaning product specifications to guest room and common area cleaning procedures.

  • Staff in all departments have received training for infection prevention and control.
  • Staff are now required to frequently wash hands as this is vital to help combat the spread of viruses.
  • Staff and guest temperatures will be checked upon arrival.
  • Protective masks or visors are to be worn by guests and staff in common areas.
  • Floors are marked for social distancing.
  • Corridors and counters have been equipped with fixed hand sanitizers for guests and staff.
  • Hourly cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces, with a focus on the counter at the front desk, lift and lift buttons, door handles, public bathrooms.
  • Room keys and garage remotes sanitized upon return.
  • Additionally our updated cleaning protocol will include staff disposing of gloves after each and every room, staff changing cleaning equipment for each and every room as well as introducing 2 additional disinfecting products for high risk touch points such as door handles, table tops, TV remotes and switches.
  • Jacuzzi hot tub cleaning procedure after every departure has been extended to now also include pipe cleaning additional to our customary practise of emptying tub, cleaning filters and tub before refilling for each and every arrival.
  • Breakfast area has been set up according to social distancing measures and therefore ample space is allowed between tables.
  • Tables and chairs have been set up on our terrace (al fresco).
  • Tables and chairs sanitized after each and every guest.
  • Crowd control measures have been implemented.
  • Buffet breakfast will now be served by order by our members of staff who will assist with serving certain items from the buffet table to avoid contamination.
  • Full breakfast may be served in the room at a minimal fee of €6.00 per room
  • Temporarily room service fees will be waivered for lunch and dinner orders for room service.
  • Home deliveries are accpted at reception and will be delivered by our staff free of charge temporarily.
  • The use of contactless payments is encouraged
  • Guests may choose to have full cleaning service, just a quick replenishment of towels and amenities or no cleaning at all.
